Debtors Accountant
Full Time Position

Starting 15 August 2024 (negotiable)

Key responsibilities
• Debtors’ management
• Completing monthly reconciliation(s)
• Work closely with Admissions Secretary
• Debit orders
• Management of Debt collection
• Liaising with Collection Attorneys
• International Swift Transfers
• Submissions of VAT returns to SARS
• Management of Trust account
• Preparing annual budget
• Monitoring income and expenditure to budget
• Producing monthly reports for Exco
• Preparing audit pack for submission to the external auditors

Experience & Qualifications
• BCom Degree in Accounting/Finance
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial accounting or as Accounts Payable Accountant
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping, variance analysis and accounting principles
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a non-profit organisation is advantageous

Knowledge & Skills
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping
• Proficiency in MS Office, accounting software: Ed Admin, Pastel, Keri App
• Extensive knowledge in applying accounting principles and government reporting regulations
• Debt Collection Skills
• Punctual, reliable and self-motivated
• Able to work in a team and produce quality output under tight deadlines
• Possess effective communication skills, verbal and written
• Have strong organising, planning, and reporting skills
