Housemother: Junior Boarding – Full-time Post (with accommodation; no pets)

Commencing: 20 July 2026 (Ref: JSHM)

Due to the expansion of our junior boarding facility, we are opening Sprig Cottage (Grade 1-4) and require a Housemother. The purpose of this role is to provide high quality pastoral care, supervision, and support to pupils residing in the boarding establishment. This role ensures the safety, wellbeing, and positive development of boarders while fostering a warm, homely, and disciplined environment. The Housemother plays a key role in the daily operation of the boarding house and serves as a trusted adult for boarders.

Qualifications, Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Minimum of Grade 12 (Matric); relevant tertiary qualification is an advantage.
  • First aid training and swimming competency would be advantageous.
  • Evidence of clearance with the Child Protection Act and Sexual Offences Register.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a boarding environment or junior school setting would be an advantage.
  • Aligned with and committed to upholding the Christian ethos and values of the school.
